The second installment in TESLA’s Real to Reel collection features the venerable quintet covering classic songs by the likes of Alice Cooper (“Is It My Body?”), Bachman-Turner Overdrive (“Not Fragile”), and ZZ Top (“Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers”), to the same satisfying results heard on the first R2R.
Real to Reel is a cover song studio album released on June 5, 2007, it includes covers of classic rock songs from the late 1960’s and early 1970’s recorded by Tesla in their own style using analog tape and vintage equipment.
Best Buy included a limited, exclusive Bonus CD with the purchase of “Real to Reel”. This Bonus CD includes 4 songs, “War Pigs” from Reel Two, and unplugged versions of “Shine Away”, “Modern Day Cowboy” and “Paradise”.
Additional 12 tracks recorded during the Real to Reel sessions, were released on a second volume, entitled Real to Reel, Vol. 2.
The first CD (containing 13 songs) is sold in a case with a blank slot for the second CD. The second CD (containing 12 additional songs) would initially be available to concert goers in the USA at no additional charge beyond the cost of a ticket. The second CD was also given away with the August edition of Classic Rock magazine in Europe.
