Def Leppard Guitarist Vivian Campbell Returns to the Stage!

June 28, 2015
Atlanta, GA / Aaron’s Amphitheatre at Lakewood

vivian-cambell Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell made a triumphant return to the stage last night after being cleared by his doctor to join his mates as they tour North America this summer.

Vivian wrote on his facebook page: “So, so happy to report that I’ve dodged the bullet of radiation. I was due to start a course that would have sidelined me for most of the first leg of the US tour, but my brilliant doctors have steered me towards an alternative course of treatment that will enable me to rejoin the tour this Saturday night in Birmingham Alabama. Furthermore, they’ve tailored future treatments to accommodate the tour schedule so I won’t have to miss any more shows.

I’m so happy and so indebted to the wonderful physicians who have worked so hard on my behalf to make this happen.”

I was fortunate enough to be second row at this amazing show. What a great performance and you could look at Vivian’s face and tell he was completely in his element. He’s a truly talented artist who loves his job and it shows. Way to go Viv!! You’re in my thoughts and prayers. #rockon

    Great news Viv.
I haven’t seen you since you gigged with Ronnie JD at Bristol’s Colston Hall circa 1984, when you were kind enough to take Ronnie’s lead on audience connection and give plectrums to my erstwhile GF after we met him at The Granary the preceding night. I’ll never forget your truly playing, including the awesome picking of Man on the Silver Mountain. Stay well
