Rock reporter Demerie Leigh recently sat down with TESLA bassist Brian Wheat to get his thoughts on the influence Def Leppard had on the band during the early days.

“Def Leppard are like our big brothers. When we were young starting out we used to play their songs in the clubs. The last proper tour across America we did was in ’87 – ’88 which was “Hysteria” which was a huge tour for them, i think it was their biggest album. We kinda learned how to be a band from being with them every night. They were good too, to have to go on before (them), the bar was high, so I think that’s why we were so good early on because playing with them every night you had to be good.

It’s gonna be great. They’re good guys.”
